The two governments are poised to impose a new round of tariff hikes on $16 billion of each other?s goods next week in their worsening conflict over Beijing?s technology policy.
The Commerce Ministry said Beijing ?reiterates its opposition to unilateralism and trade protectionism and does not accept any unilateral trade restrictions.?

Always believed China was heading for a problem with out without tariffs. China is moving at a very fast pace to keep up with the needs of a BILLION and a HALF chinese.
Tariffs would be devastating to China. Trump had said this before and they would negotiate because they can't afford not too.
Where would they sell zillions of electric frying pans, toasters, blenders and jucers if it wasn't to the U.S.
This will give you an idea of what would happen if their factory cut production.

This is just so obvious. If a country has high tariffs on stuff we sell them and we have low or no tariffs on stuff they sell us, that's "unfair" and how can we fix that? Our government has no leverage, no bargaining power. So first step is impose tariffs on that other country that hurt. With that simple step, we create our own bargaining power.

The pat on the back for Trump is getting the Commies to the table at all. Obummer and his ilk were happy to manage the decline of America. And, if we look at it logically it is easy to see that any change to balance the trade scales is good for American workers and our nation in general. All we can ask for in life is a reasonably level playing field.
