Old Iron Young People
Sitting at the beach watching boats here in the channel leading to the Intercoastal Waterway and a 1970?s Caddy comes in and backs up and parka with a young kid wearing a Santa hat driving. Two minutes later I hear the rumble of a well tuned V8 and it?s coming from a gorgeous green and gold short bed mid 1980?s Dodge Prospector pickup truck with two guys inside. These three guys are crawling all over each other?s vehicles and they all appear to be under 25 years old. It?s good to see the youngsters so enthusiastic about this old iron. I would do photos but I can?t seem to access my Imgur account.

I read a article some years back
young people and the "tuner cars" basic what they can afford to play with and work with a classic muscle car is normaly a lot of $$ to lay out vs a run of the mill used import . lack of cash ( most us are familiar with )

as a young fellow (like most all of you [B)] ) I remember when the muscle cars were just old used cars unless some super rare model of course

Around here people with old cars for sale,lots of it rusty junk, are asking prices for it that you could buy the same car already restored or hot rodded at a Mecum auction.I don't think many are selling for asking price, but why not ask 25 grand for your roller rusted 62 Galaxy 4 door. 0 -

My son loves old cars and trucks, especially the 60's but he refuses to pay the prices that lots of that stuff goes for. He's always on the lookout for those diamonds in the rough.
2 1/2 years ago, we were driving through the middle of Illinois (near Wenona, Illinois) and came across this old '66 Chevy pickup. He had to have it and paid the man $700. I thought he was nuts! We trailered it home to Ohio and got it running one long weekend. He since ran new brake lines, got all the lights working, added tires and threw on old Chevy hubcaps we had in the barn. It runs like a top and is now a daily summer driver. Is it a pretty, new paint old truck? No, but it is a cool old truck! My son is on the right negotiating with the guy and exchanging money for the title.
We call that truck "Don Schultz" in honor of the original deceased owners name painted on the side of the truck.
