On a positive note (if there is one), I remember eating one of those "Hungry Man" TV dinners back when they still used tin foil for the plate. It wasn't half bad! There were a few green beans stuck in the cranberry desert cake that migrated across their border, illegally of coarse!
The best thing about your holiday meal is that you won't end up with a big pile of dishes to wash![:)]

You ought to hit one of the Thanksgiving Buffets that is bound be going on near you. Golden Coral, K&W most of the big chain restaurants have a special Thanksgiving menu. Being single has it's pluses and minus', holidays can be a challenge. Have a good day bro. 0 -
I am going to spend the morning with the kids on the pediatric oncology ward watching ground hog day - and it's mostly tween girls so doing manicures and makeup and such...
And they play poker pretty well - some kind of girl fad.
I will be cooking for the girls tonight (all after noon) but now hing super elaborate - I am making pies for both neighbors and will also give a cheap decent bottle of white wine.
The pets will get appropriate left overs.
Makaila starts a triple shift at midnight so she will be gone by 10 and Mackenzie has a school project that requires her to be on campus this weekend so she leaves around midnight
I may spend a few hours at my parents visiting.
Most of the 4 day weekend will be me and the animals solo while I read or listen to music or podcasts - maybe tinker with some projects or prepare more fodder for the fireplaces

Just Donna and I this year, for the first time. Both her parents passed this year, and my parents and siblings are in Texas. The dogs are happy though, they are going to have all the turkey and fixing, they want[:D]. Heading out to the gun range with a few friends today. Annual tradition. Happy thanksgiving Yosh 0 -

I may be alone but I like the full spread at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'll have the turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, Rosemary carrots, a small bitter green salad, cranberry sauce (the crushed kind not smooth from the can!) and sweet potatoes.
I love leftovers so I get more full meals and sandwiches, too.

Out shopping right now don't ask but in my truck we have 20 buckets of cat litter about 100 + cans of cat food 20 bottles of laundry detergent 10 boxes of trash bags 6 bags of cat food oh and a box of 500 9mm ammo going back tomorrow in hopes of getting a xds on sale my guess they will have 3 and a line of 300 shoppers wanting one0 -
Happy thanksgiving, I have spent a couple of holidays alone unwillingly and its tough ! Today is one of those days! Both of our families have passed , and the extended family is far away and we both have to work on friday, so I will spend my day with the 2 dogs and get some firewood split, the kids are at their inlaws and the wife is a RN and its her holiday to work. she will pull a 12 hr shift so it will be late this evening when she gets home. so today is a day for me to get a few things done around here, and keep my mind busy and off missing all our folks. Hang in there Yosh, holidays can be tough going. For what it?s worth, you?ve got plenty of friends here. We can all talk trash back and forth, solve a few of the world?s problems AND, when we?re done, ya don?t have to kick us outta your house or clean up any leftover mess.

It?s all good Brother. I?m at work right now cleaning some guns and doing some paperwork. My plan is to cook a good burger on the grill later on and watch a good DVD. Think good thoughts like what kind of bore cleaner are you gonna use on that M14. I think Sweet?s 7.62 has become my favorite. 0 -
Yeah, Thanksgiving alone isn't the funnest ever, BUT - It isn't the worst. I enjoyed my Thanksgiving dinners at Waffle House the last two years. I walked in alone, and left after the meal with a bunch of new friends/acquaintances.
It's not what life deals you, it's how you deal with what you are dealt.
Make the best of it, Yosh. Step outside your comfort zone and reap the rewards.0 -
Alone but not a TV dinner. Local Market Does all the Fixings. Got their Honey ham( enough for a couple of meals). Some Sliced turkey cause thanksgiving weekend is not right without at least one Turkey on Sourdough sandwich. Stuffing cause I really like what they make.
They make small Pies too so got a Pecan and a Pumpkin one. So I will be eating good.
Having a Breakfast Burrito from them right now to start the day.0 -
Just me and the wife, kids are only 90 miles away but their kids (our grandkids and great grandkids) are going to the respective in-laws after cinnamon roll breakfast with the daughter and son-in-law. So we're just hanging out. Turkey in the oven and my lovely wife already fried me the liver and heart in bacon grease for a morning snack.
For you guys that are alone, while we were working almost every holiday one or the other of us was working. Spending the day alone is infinitely preferable to what the Thanksgiving of 1987 was for me. Spent it in a county jail following a charge of having too much fun. Anything is preferable to county jail turkey loaf.0 -

You got me thinking if I had ate any turkey today. Then I thought for sure I had until I looked at the label. Oscar Mayer Bologna does NOT list turkey as an ingredient . Guess I just had a sandwich of mixed stuff.

Most of my working life I worked Thanksgiving (at this current gig it's been 14 years). So it's just another day to me except holiday pay [:D]. Nothing to be sorry about. It's my regular work day (Thursday) Midnight to 0800. Yeah I could've gone to friends but I rather be sleeping. I suppose I could've gone to those Thanksgiving buffet but I don't think they had things ready when I was. Like at 0800 [:0].
Yeah Yoshmyster don't do the floor squat eating. Takes me a while to get down to the floor and with the full belly I might as well be a flipped tortoise in pot hole. Last time I was on the floor and eating has to be like 18 years ago? So limber back then [:D].
So I'm eating the other Hungry Man Turkey Dinner. So I'm having left overs?[:D]0 -
We drove to the in-laws yesterday and I couldn't help but notice that the parking lot at Burger King was full.
I did a few Thanksgiving holidays alone when I was young and single and it was a 14 hour drive home. One year I was able to go to a concert the next day. Jethro Tull was in town. They put on a great show.0
