    The author of your article is incredibly wrong on the use and history of beta blockers in this country, I was administering them in the early 1970's.

    To be so wrong on such a simple thing makes me wonder about his credibility on other issues.

    I trust big pharma the same as the trust the FDA. So, to answer your question directly, no I do not. Big Pharma is corrupt solely basing performance on profits. Likewise, Government is corrupt and is only interested in growing the power of itself at all costs.

    However, with that said only Government is truly unaccountable for its actions, the guilty are seldom punished for incompetence or malfeasance. As an example, Lois Learner and her IRS debacle. Private industries are held accountable by the most unforgiving system in the world, our capitalism, the consumer and Wall Street.

    Ya' pays yer money and takes yer chances.

    Well, that worked out so well last time that you literally took your life into your hands by purchasing the patent medicine "remedies" and "cures" prior to the Pure Food and Drug Act.

    If you want to take your chances in a third world pharmacy, there are plenty available online.

    Laetrile and thalidomide at discount prices, I hear.




    That act sure works great for our food supply. Have your burger with a healthy dose of poop and salmonella; done medium rare please.

    Laws do not hold government accountable enough for their errors that have cost us dearly with a huge immobile bureaucracy. Drugs that could save terminal lives are held back while paper pushers reload their staplers for years on end.

    I don't know WHO is responsible for this- and I don't know the fix for it-

    My wife has a genetic disease that affects the central nervous system- called Huntington's Disease. No cure, 100% fatal. There is a drug that can help with some of the symptoms- uncontrolled movement of the limbs. Not used for anything else. Called tetrabenazine. Price of a 30 day supply (generic) at the drug store- $1,781. I can get it from a British pharmacy (wife is a British subject) for $73.60.

    Same drug. Getting it from a US pharmacy will cost me an additional $1.707.40 a month. Sorry- at this stage in my life, I do not WANT to know why.

    Go ahead and tell me that the British drug might hurt my wife. My wife that has a fatal incurable disease that destroys her ability to walk, talk, swallow, hold her head still enough to read, makes it impossible to feed herself- and so on.

    We are in a phase where the bureaucracies are more interested in building their empire (and budgets) than taking care of the folks who pay the taxes they spend so freely.

    Just look at Congress -- has there been any serious discussion of how the wall will work or what it will take to control immigration?

    All I've heard is fussing over who's going to pay for it and how much.

    Reminds me of girls on the playground teasing a couple of boys until they get in a fight.

    But they'll still get their votes because they "bring the pork home".

    And the talking heads of the media earn their millions and walk away, just like the girls on the playground.[xx(]
