    A lot will depend on things, jury trial, judge? or plead a deal. HE will have to get a GOOD mouthpiece for this and correct, it will be expensive.

    I don't know if he'll get off or not, had he not approached the guys car and started an argument with his girlfriend, then he would have got off... But the DA's argument will be that the guy that got shot was only defending his girlfriend...

    It was not his business to approach the car and start an argument over how or where she parks. He should have called the cops and this could have been avoided if he had will be the argument

    This is lip service to the coloreds.

    If the state was smart it would start a campaign for all blacks to boycott Florida. I keep telling them (The thugs and their supporters) to boycott Waffle House, Walmart, and anywhere else I go. [;)]

    Their patronage is just not worth the hassle of having them in the stores.

    So you don't have the guts to stop a rape in progress? Will you just drag out your girly phone and dial 911? Afterall, you might get in trouble so don't even tell the operator your name.

    anybody with any intelligence knows there's a difference between the urgency of taking action of a woman being raped and somebody parking in a handicap spot...

    And you're right he did make a big mistake. Had the guy's girlfriend been beating up somebody else, and he went over to stop it he wouldn't have been arrested. But parking in a handicap stall is not jeopardizing somebody's well being that immediate action has to be taken..

    of course anybody with any intelligence would know that... SHEESH!!!

    I don't know why you think your girly insults mean anything to anybody except to show them how unintelligent you really are.

    Even with a good lawyer and a bunch of cash, he'll be convicted. After violently shoving the individual to the ground, the unarmed aggressor backed away. Meanwhile, the female vehicle occupant was not presenting a significant threat. Like it or not, the Florida law does not protect the shooter in such a situation.

    He will probably get off but not without a lot of attorney fees. Assaulting a senior citizen in Florida is a felony. The guy messed up when he laid hands on him and the old man will claim he feared for his life.
    However, arguing over a parking space is hardly grounds for killing anyone regardless of race.

    As I stated in the original thread we should examine these incidents from the "What can we learn" from them not be the cop, the judge or the jury because we get no say on the verdict

    I would never park in a handicap space
    I would not hassle the jerk who does park in the handicap space
    I would not batter the person who is arguing with my friend

    So, I would never be in any of those situations

    I would also look for any reason not to shoot someone

    That said I can not know what fear the man on the ground had in his mind and as a lesson don't assault someone and give them any reason even a bad one to shoot you.

    The man who committed battery and died was 28

    The shooter was/is 47 so is not a senior just a generation older than the attacker

    Only the jury can save him now.Like I said before minor misdemeanors are not worth the cops time anymore. Here in my town with all the murders,shootings,drive by's,wife beatings,DWI & DUI's they have not got the time to enforce the Law!

    Just wait when the pensions run dry![:o)] Then it's going to be a free for all chaos.

    +1, Must agree with you here. A split second between guilty and not guilty. Have served on enough juries in my 75 years to know that in this country it's all about "Reasonable Doubt".

    Unless we have the typical OJ travesty, the guy will probably walk. The hesitation is what one might legitimately expect to see from people that do not have much training or range time, who are simply attempting to execute the basics of a self defense response. The sheriff appears to be very sharp.

    As a side bar to this topic.

    My nephew was in 5thSF group with at least two tours in Iraq and I think three tours in Afghanistan. He got out of the Active Duty Army after 12 years I believe because he felt the next round had his name on it. Before they could make a hit on a bad guy it had to go up the Chain of Command and even to Malike(spelling) I believe. I think he felt like his edge was gone. He is a very young Sgt. Major now in the Guard and helps train SF troops. I can not say where he is or what else he does.

    I have a NY State unrestricted concealed carry permit. After reading these topics and great posts I feel like I might have lost my edge. It really comes down to shoot or don't shoot sometimes. As most know, if you hesitate you can be dead.

    Walk or not, unless he has one of those fancy carry insurance policies he's likely going to be financially ruined with the criminal and civil legal bills. If he's smart he'll leave those parking violators alone in the future.

    I know! Have a GPS locator in your car that must registered your privilege to park in a designated handicap zone if not an automatic ticket will be e-mailed to you. Deactivation of engine starts if not payed in a timely matter.

    Technology will preserve the peace because one rotten apple spoils the whole barrel and you better get ready for it for 5G cell towers are coming! You must be monitored 24/7 to instill a peaceful existence for all. Laugh and scoff but the time is coming.

    "The first point is the black couple were in the wrong for knowingly parking in a handicap spot. Second point is the male was in the store when his wife was verbally challenged by Drejka. The key word there is "verbally." Third and most important point is that the male came from the store, previously unseen by Drejka and without communication of any sort, assaulted Drejka violently knocking him to the ground. I did not see the man back down until the weapon was visible, then he turned and ran after being shot square in the chest. Drejka feared for his life and took appropriate action in my humble opinion."

    That's the way I see it. Arrogant young SOB was WRONG and got shot.

    Many of you need to read the statements given in the deposition/charge pages below the video (it's in small print, blow them up and read), your "stand your ground man" needs to be put away for a long time.....and this is coming from a deep Southern White man with admittedly strong prejudices, right is right and wrong is wrong....what this man did was WRONG.

    Well if I was on the jury I'd vote guilty to the charges from what I've seen in the video and the witnesses depositions, a vehicle is an extension of ones home, someone threatening you or your family while in their "secure" area, even if you have a criminal history you have the right to remove that treat and that's what the guy did (pushing a treat away from his family is about as gentle as one can be, even a rough push), if the dead guy had shown more aggression then it'd be another story completely for sure. In this case the shooter has a history too so Florida may soon be minus 2 bad guys instead of 1 [;)].......read the prosecutors report below the video.

    I read those pages and agree. His clearly described specific actions that day and his documented prior actions will doom his "stand your ground" defense. He will do some serious time, either through conviction or a plea deal.

    It paints a picture of some one looking for a confrontation. Richard Kelly, John Tyler and Castelli could be powerful witnesses against Drejka.
