Deer down

Not great , but will fill the freezer. Yesterday, I sat all day and saw absolutely nothing. Not even a squirrel. I'm hunting for an 11 pointer I have been seeing. Went out again this morning. Got in my stand and within five minutes, I had deer all around me. Two does, picked me out at five yards and started snorting and ran.The buck I'm after, crossed about 200 yards out in front of me, and crossed the road into a junkyard. Damn. Looked up and saw this four pointer walking right up to me. Bam. Need to put meat in the freezer and can't eat the antlers. Big bodied deer, with broken antlers. Hopefully, I catch the one I'm after in the next month. Muzzleloader is fun, but very challenging. I'm good at 100 yards, but after that, Who knows. Wasn't going to risk wounding a nice buck just for his antlers. Still have a full season left. Back to work tomorrow. Sure my plate is going to be full.[V]Oak

    congratulation. if legal where I'm hunting I will usually take a doe before a buck they're a lot better eating

    time to give up that working, and hunt/fish/golf full time Oakie, I started last january, just now realizing if I sleep in I am not late for work, good luck on the buck. hope all is well healthwise

    How is the ticker? I assume holding up well. Hope you get that ole Deer. How long do you have to use the Muzzle loader?

    Our deer are pint sized but our season is from Aug 15th to Jan 1
