This Happened Yesterday Interesting
A black man with Virginia plates was traveling on Highway 64 cutting people off and running people off the road.
Well one white guy took offence and they exchanged words and the white dude thought they were through and got off at an exit and went to Lowes.
As he was walking through the parking lot he saw the black man pull a knife so he started running into Lowes. The guy caught him by the doors and beat the crap out of him.
I was told he was hit in the head about 30 times. Afterwords he told the police he had a gun on his person. He told the police that he could not take a persons life.
If you can not protect yourself why carry a gun? [V]

Lots of cowards abound. It's not a matter of can't, it's a matter of won't. first time I've heard that from a guy with a weapon though. Most claim they'll go to jail.

It is a personal choice. He should make the choice to sell his gun and I hope no one else is depending on him to protect them 0 -
He was justified in shooting him in the parking lot when the guy pulled the knife.
One thing about shooting someone in self defense is your life has forever changed. Its going to cost you some money in civil court either defending yourself again or making payments to the dirt bag you shots fambly.
Best thing he could have done is mind his own business, call the NCHP followed the asshat and watched the show when the NCHP got to him.0 -
he would be well advised to suffer all the abuse some dirtbag would offer and buy a prepaid funeral...could sell the gun to finance the funeral 0 -
well I too don't wish to kill anyone but in a situation I think that I would without thinking about it just by reaction. 0 -

I carry mine mostly for Garden Rhino. Although we do get the occasional Flowerbed Elephant if the Whiskey is good. [;)][:D]0 -
Seems to me the victim could have pulled his gun and put a round into the ground close to the perp coming at him.
If that would not have stopped his advances, I'd of plopped him real good!
It may have saved him from shooting the guy and also saved him from getting his ass kicked.0 -

I believe a Warning shot is illegal in NC.
But we do have a stand your ground law and you can defend yourself without retreating in you Home, Car and Work place. That changed in 2011, before that you had to retreat.0 -
I'm sure others will chime in but the idea of a warning shot is typically frowned upon. A gun is used for life threatening situations and if you felt you had the time for a warning shot than you were probably not in a life threatening situation. The same goes for trying to shoot to wound or shoot to kill, you don't do either. You shoot to stop the threat. 0 -
You could always say your warning shot was a miss. Under such mental duress it would be hard to prosecute as long as you stand your ground and stay with your story.
As long as your missed shot does not threaten any bystanders, breaking a law to avoid a lifetime of mental anguish and not taking a life\or taking one if need be on shot #2, you know deep inside that you did everything in your power in a very bad situation.

He said he noticed the black guy coming at him with a knife, he should have pulled his gun and and got ready to shoot the guy.. If the black guy stopped and turnef and ran away, it should have put his gun away and went about his business.... If the black guy kept coming, he should have shot... 0
