fellow behind me talking on his phone, got quite loud at times, as it seems his credit cards had been hacked, someone called him early that morning. he had online purchases from some cosmetic site for close to ten grand, and almost three thousand from online wallyworld. the fraud folks told him if they had that much info his address and drivers liscence was probubly also comprimised and to get a new liscence. he said the charges would be dropped but if would be a while to get new cards. he asked about catching the folks who hacked him and they blew him off, he said if they were online purchases there would be an address where the stuff would be delivered and they diddn't care, and wouldn't give him the address either. to me he makes sense, get tracking number for delivery then wait for whoever to pick it up. if they don't start prosecuting these folks it will never stop......[xx(][:(!][V]

    If his CC companies work like mine, the purchases were never approved so nothing is going to be sent out.
    That's how CC work!

    when mine got hacked they would not tell me either wth

    My card got hacked a while back . I knew who did it. CC company was not interested in the information on the guy.

    Went to the Police they took a report, but nothing came of it (as I was getting reimbursed, and CC company was not pressing charges.).

    You're not the victim once the CC company makes you whole again. They write it off because they expense of pursuing is likely more than the loss. Much of this fraud is international, requiring the FBI. The FBI isn't even remotely interested until the fraud reaches the millions of dollars. Local LE can do very little if it is an out of area fraud. 99.9% of victims are not going to travel to prosecute, and localities can't afford the cost on extraditing credit fraud suspects from out of state. Most people only care about having their account restored. It is the nature of the crime, and the criminals know this, that's why they do it. Most CC companies are skilled at stopping the fraud before the purchases actually go through and ship.
