If what most of you say is true,then why aren't all those corrupt judges, prosecutor's and politicians being arrested? Why do so many PD's try so hard to cover up the deeds of their bad employee's? 0 -

most judges that I have dealt with were surprisingly honest and fair. a few stinkers I could count on the fingers of my hand. so maybe that's why dishonest cops would want to avoid going before a judge? otoh I don't know if judges are inclined to overlook transgressions of the police or believe them too much, I haven't seen those situations so I couldn't say. for my 2c 0 -

Local Circuit Court judge is still in the state pen for bribery, extortion, dealing drugs, and tampering with a witness. Another local Circuit Court judge was called out for judicial impropriety and simply said "I'm a Judge, it's my decision, it will be so".0 -

This all began in 1910 when a group of 6 bankers and economic policy-makers held a secret meeting at Jeckyll Island(you can read all about this in The Creature From Jeckyll Island). These 6 men represented the wealthiest and most elite people?s interests. The purpose of this meeting was to figure out a way to trick the American people into allowing a central bank into the country(there were several central banks before this that were taken down by the people). Then in 1913 the Federal Reserve Act was signed into effect by President Wilson. This was recounted in 1916 by B.C. Forbes, the founder of Forbes magazine. It was this act that put us into Maritime Admiralty law.
A few years later, in 1921, the Sheppard-Towner Maternity Act was passed by Congress. This Maternity Act forced all birth to be registered with the state under the excuse that it was for health benefits for the people. This leads us up to 1933 when the government took away all the gold and silver with HJR192 and switched the country over to using Federal Reserve Notes(these are the dollars we use today). 1933 was also the year in which the government went bankrupt, again. Had one retired cop on here say he looked at everybody as a suspect, and guilty of something. So I asked him "so everybody's guilty huh?" He told me to go F myself. Well right back at him. 0 -
Most LE are decent folks, but every barrel has the bad apple or two, which can sour some poeple to be against all LE.
Some LE are sour against just about every one. It is human nature, don't make it right, but people are just people.
Have had many contacts with LE in my life. Being a gunsmith and having worked as an armorer for several small PD's in the area, got to know a bucnch of them. Just about all stand up guys and gals. Once in awhile one would come to my shop with their personal firearm for work and when the work was done, flip their badge at me and leave. Had one Winchester here for almost a year because the guys check bounced when he ordered the rifle.He kept offering to write me another check. Just before deer season, he showed up with cash.
When I was 17, several of us gear heads got pinched street racing. We were sitting in park when a young street cop pulled in, he knew it was us, but hadn't seen the cars or plates for sure. He was 23 at the time. Started to give us the riot act about small town, noise, our cars and on and on. He said something to me and I kind of lipped back. Out came the cuffs and he said,"It's Friday night, you can sit in juvinel lock up until Monday morning and see the judge or until your parents call us saying you are missing, or you and your friends can shut up." Yes sir. "Now, you and your friends will quietily leave town, I've got your names and your plates. ANY of these cars are back in this town in the next 30 days, we WILL have a meeting." Yes sir. The upshot of this? That young street cops name was Rich. He and I became friends and we still go deer hunting together to this day. Both of our sons went to school in his town and he was always a good guy to them.
All people are human, some better than most, some, not so good.
Bottom line? They see stuff every day and deal with lots of trash. To me, I wonder if I could do it.0 -

okay those are definitely bad ones. how many good ones have you experienced? we're trying to figure out if they are mostly good, mostly bad and what locations have good or bad ones.
when cops go bad it can result in the hospital, jail, a ruined life or even the grave. when judges go bad I suppose that can result in bribery, extortion, witness tampering and judicial misconduct.

ONE and mostly because my side of the story was printed law so no real challenge in making a determination.0 -
You can be the most friendly, respectful cop in the country but if you willfully or knowingly cover up any wrongdoings from another cop by "color of law" or through the gang mentality of the "Thin Blue Line",you are not a good guy. This mentality and practice is why the vast majority of regular citizens do not trust or even want to associate with police. 0 -
