We quit using it when 2 or 3 rds. out of 10 .22s failed to fire. I talked to the Big Wigs at Winchester during Shot Show about it and they're answer was, "Go buy something F-ing else"! His exact words!
They told a Military guy next to me the same thing when he complained about the 9mm Simunition having the same problem.

Really, I guess with one exception I don't have a favorite brand. I do use CCI 22lr HP to hunt with and have for 40 years or so.
Shotgun shells for bird hunting, I've used Winchester the most. But that has more to do with availability than anything else. Remington express shells generally pattern well. But I've used most available brands one time or another. Like I posted in another thread I've shot a lot of Fiocchi.
Center fire rifle ammo depends on the rifle. I try to feed them what they like. But really, at reasonable (for me) distances, most name brands do the job.
I have 3 different handguns that get carry time (one primarily but the others have their occasional place) and I have 3 different brand of ammo, one for each of them.0 -

Got a bunch, depending upon what I am shooting. Hornady is right up there, but I shoot Sig as well, some Speer, Winchester, and a lot of foreign stuff for old guns like Nambu, and Mauser. 0 -
Weatherby and Nosler for my rifles. I shoot a mixed blend when it comes to my shotguns. What ever is on sale usually except for my turkey hunting loads. 0 -

The only factroy ammo I really shoot is CCI 22lr everything else I load.
Norma and Federal are good ammo makers as is Hornaday. The old winchester silver tips were great killers and Remington Cor-lockt in 30-30 was a great round.0 -

Whatever is the cheapest. I really haven't had any issues with any of them. In most of the years that I did a lot of shooting I reloaded my own.
Best to stick to one brand and the same bullet weight/style so one can keep the gun zeroed .0 -
I suppose it depends.... Pistol, I would say federal aluminium Winchester white box brass.
Rifles, Winchester whitebox or ppu

Junk? Not that I've ever seen. Other than CCI, American Eagle is my favorite. Works great in my auto, revolver, and pump.0 -

Usually just usually get the cheapest for plinking around at the range. When I was shooting trap filling in for my son in-law a few times in his league noted the Remington low brass would not eject properly from my Benelli SBE II. No problem with Winchester or Federal. My Kimber 1911 does not like Remington of any kind for some reason, no problem with anything else. I have kit M-1 H/R Garand with a gas adjustment valve on it. It will normally fire any 150 grain bullet but also does not like Remington either. I have several Remington guns and am frankly surprised at some of their ammo. My old Nylon 66 and 870 have never ever failed me! They are both >50 years old. 0
