Are the bunches of Bulls in the Madison valley close enough to the road to view good with a glasses or spotting scope?
Headed to Bozeman tomorrow and trying to decide the route, whether check out the Elk in the Madison or Bighorn sheep in the Gallatin.

When I left Christmas evening they were to our north, several hundred of them. They come and go, be there for a few days and sometimes gone for a few days, not sure if they are there now or not.
Best place to view them is to turn onto Airport Rd and go to the top of the bench, or you can stop at Cedar Creek Rd and glass from there.
I just left St George UT, loading in Ogden to get some horse feed for Murcdochs in Bozeman and Polson this evening. I?ll be on 20 a d 287 tonite.0 -
Thanks, probably just go down the Gallatin and come back through the Madison unless there is several good Rams there in the Gallatin to ook at.
Sometimes even get to see some sheep near Raynolds jct some years this time of year, but mostly ewes and lambs.
Travel safe, lightly nowing here now, so 20 through IP will be pretty slick.

Anywhere from Pocatello all the way to Bozeman is going to suck! 20 will be a hair puller snow or no snow, 287 and 191 will be enough to make you buy a bag of ?screw it? and a 5th of hooch.

Watch for a solar panel with some water tanks by the tower line on your right. Look up in that ravine where the trees start. Unless my cousin has been filling his freezer, there should be a bunch of muleys in there. 0 -

Sucks in a big way whether ski season or Big sky housing construction season. Wife had some Dr's appointments at Deaconess hospital in Bozeman a few years back we planned them so we could travel during the lulls in traffic. Complete zoo.

Road report, not sure where you?re coming from so,
Utah line to McCammon, absolute crap, snow, ice and wind.
McCammon to Idaho Falls, meh, shiny road but able to drive the speed limit, most cars doing the same with the occasional Nervous Nellie going 50-55.
Idaho Falls to Ashton, light shine to the road but still able to cruise 70-75 with no issues.
Ashton to east Island Park at 87 turnoff. Ashton hill dry, mix dry and shiny road all the way to the gates. At the gates snow covered and patchy ice, I didn?t slow down.
87 to 287, Reyonlds Pass on Idaho side, heavy snow and blowing snow, near whiteout conditions, heavy load so I went slow but not by choice. Reynolds Pass Montana side, snow stopped but still blowing, road moving sideways but able to see the lines, truck ?em up.
287 to Cameron, frost heaves will launch you out of your seat. Blowing and drifting snow, everywhere there are guardrails on east side of road is drifted, nice loose powder, blast on through. After the first bench road clears up and wind dies down, I was a good boy and did the truck speed limit, never know where Madison County deputies will be hiding.
Idaho had large critter on road warnings, did not see one such creature, bummer.
Made it to the Cameron weigh station with 10 minutes to spare on my electronic logbook, speeding paid off, waiting on the wife to come get me.0 -

I'm about 20 miles North and East of Idiot Flats,,,,, I mean Idaho Falls.
What time do you think you will be at Murdochs in Bozeman?
We plan to get there between 13:00-15:00, dependent on how the Sheep spotting goes.

Around noon sometime, I just woke up (tired!) and will be leaving here in an hour or so. And the elk have dissapeared, tons of goats but no elk today. 0
