Greeker375 passed last week. Don
Years ago he invited me to visit. Sorry I never made it.
To date, I met Wundundee . . . nice dinner
And the guy who wanted us to help him finance a movie studio. What was his name? The best B.S.'er GunBroker ever had? His daddy found a crate of never issued Sharps rifles buried under a barn floor, etc etc etc.0 -
Used to e-mail Greeker375 back and forth about Crete, where his family was from, and I visited. Another of the Good Guys gone. RIP. 0 -

Ray mainly posted here on obscure cartridge questions, as collecting cartridges (esp benchrest and wildcats) was one of his passions. He also used to compete in BR shooting.

John Bole Davis, aka Salvage33 on 9/7/17, RIP Brother.
John Bole Davis, III
John Davis died on September 7, 2017, at the age of 72. John was preceded in death by his wife, Michele, and father, John B. Davis, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Davis; brothers, Jay, Joe (Olga), and Bill (Noreen); his sons, Jon (Elizabeth) and Chris (Emily); and his grandchildren, Whit, Anderson, and Kate.
John was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on October 24, 1944. He was a graduate of Byrd High School and Louisiana Tech University. He served proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. After a career in construction sales, he enjoyed working at Home Depot where he could educate customers and often tell them a story or two. Storytelling was one of his favorite past times, especially sharing memories of coaching middle-school basketball for his sons' teams. Michele had a talent for involving John in her many activities. He would initially go kicking and screaming, but he softened over the years, making lasting friendships and memories. He loved the outdoors and had just completed a bucket-list fishing trip on the Panama Canal.
John will be remembered privately, at his request. Our family has been overwhelmed with generosity over the last five months as we lost John and Michele to lung cancer. Our angels include Drs. Rick Michael, Himanshu Desai, Neelima Chintapalli, Roscoe Chan, Bob Massengill; Father Thomas John; Dean Alston Johnson; Sisters Suny, Saji, and Ranjanna; nurses, neighbors, and friends from their Centaur float; Pokeno group; St Joseph's Choir; LSUS; Society of St. Vincent DePaul; and Kiwanis. We will be forever grateful for your love and support.
