finally got the little buggar.............

was driving home about hour or so ago and got a sting/bite on left shoulderblade, reached back but couldn't reach the spot, 1/2 mile or so down road felt it again, pulled over on burm reached back and felt something about bee size. ripped my shirt off and jumped out of the truck and was beating my shirt on the tailgate, as traffic passed I looked all over the seat couldn't find anything. put shirt back on and came home

sitting here in recliner got that sharp feeling again reached over shoulder and felt something inside my shirt. peeled it off and was looking all over finally found a dang GRASSHOPPER, must have been his feet digging in my back felt almost like a bite. he was about half dead, so I killed the other half for spite, coulda swore it was a bee/yellowjacket never really stung just felt something crawling/scratching on my shoulderblade..... just don't twist around like I used to[B)][:D]

    did kinda wonder what the folks thought out on the highway passing me as I was ripping my shirt off and smacking the bed of the truck with it, I swell up like the elephant man if get stung, I coulda swore it was a bee.......[;)]

    they can bite flesh quite hard. they have powerful jaws to pinch the crap out of you with.

    I've had a bee up the pant leg when out riding the bike. Yes, about all you can do is pull over & pull your pants down & get that sucker out of there - another good reason to wear underwear!

    Last year mowing with brush hog, grasshopper on face, glasses after brush hog. I got the grasshopper.

    Was pulling vines out of some dogwoods and felt a real good bite on one of my fingers. A praying mantis got me! Really a good grip[:0]

    Have a Place here called Glory Bee Honey. Had a wasp go down my Collar. He got down to the fat roll and started biting.

    I pulled into the parking lot of glory bee right in front of their store and started striping. I'm not sure if they want me back there.

    And yes I got that wasp. And he died several times.[:D]

    Parked my pickup on an anthill one day after lunch.

    Got in pickup to do evening rounds of the irrigation wells. Pulled out of field road and onto the 4-lane US 60 headed for the first irrigation well a half-mile away.

    Felt something tickling my leg as I got in traffic, then the bites started.

    Got off the road ASAP and shucked my levis. (Lace up boots have their disadvantages[xx(] )

    Had a can of insect repellant -- half the can went on my legs & Levis and other half into the cab which I closed and let it cook while I serviced well engine and adjusted the water.

    Checked carefully and found no ants before heading for another well.

    Might be a warranty on those frames. Manufacturers defect.[:(]

    Bee yes, Wasp/yellowjacket No. They not only sting but Bite to.

    I?ve got about 7 acres and a trail to brush hog. But it can wait until the aggressiveness of the stinging bastages drops with the fall temperatures.

    Worst was a walk behind brush hog getting too close to a bald faced hornet nest this time of year. Got it about 14 times in the leg, wearing shorts and boots. Ended up with a hole in the skin on the back of my calf. Went back at dark and burned it out with a roofers torch.

    Trouble is after that, it gets in your head when you feel something scratching, pricking, biting you a while, so I know where you?re coming from!

    Those might work great for Ken. His sight isn't all that good anyway[:D]
