I was going to pick the email apart piece by piece - but I got bored with the task - and found way too many items to pick apart.

    Some easy ones -

spending $100,000 on 42 guns averages at $2,380 per gun. That is a pretty nice collection. Evidently the expensive ones were still at home.

"illegal modifications" - Please identify those modifications

"virtual armoury (love that British spelling) of unprecedented scope and scale" - What can I say? Want to see mine? [:D]

So I will just leave it at this -

Yeah, that is what I want to hear "gun control" advice from a person living in London, England. [;)]

I suppose that would be similar to me giving advice on the proper way to raise camels. HINT: I have no idea on any aspect of how to raise a camel.

I think they need to be reminded of what we did to them the last time they came for our guns [xx(]

Or..... The federal government was involved. I don't Believe absolutely no motive is there.

I can't believe a person does a false flag attack on his own initiative because he believes gun violence I out of control. We know every past shooting is seen as a potential event for a gun ban.

If it wasn't for "our" guns donated to them in the 1940's, they'd be speaking German. What a wonderful way to repay us. Oh well, they'll be speaking some Middle Eastern language soon and donating their wives to the nightly Muslime gangbang. Odd how history repeats itself to morons.

They, very well, may have his motive right. I think there is something else but, as of now, we don't know and likely never will.

Fun to read the comments from those who didn't read the article.

Even better are those who managed to read the article and miss the point.

    Well done! [8D]

    Great!

I read the article, but now I don't know, if I missed the point.

    What was the point?

No, seriously, what was the point?

    I didn't find the article hard to understand,...maybe I missed the point?![:0][:D]

Looks simple to me. The article is about what was the shooters motive and gave examples of how they arrived at their conclusion.

Errors like "illegal modifications" didn't impact the reasons given as to the shooters motives.

I'd say, w/o knowing, the articles opinion is reasonable and might be as good as any at this time.

The persons location isn't important. Recently a theory about how the pyramids were built was developed by a man who'd never visited Egypt and the theory appears it will be proven as correct.

At this point any hypothesis is worth a read and I suppose that scenario was plausible, but IMO, the think tank may have put too much thought into it. To pretend that he acted like a screenwriter to leave us with a murder mystery to solve is a bit of a stretch.

The idea that he just felt like doing it with no intended moral to the story, (other than what European antis dream up) is just as plausible. To plan out something like this and not leave a clear motive/message behind for the world, could make no motive just as probable. Obviously there's no motive he was passionate enough about to let us know about. Which in itself drives everyone crazy because there is nothing to even attempt to understand.

As Alfred said, "Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men, just want to watch the world burn."

The point was to illustrate a possible explanation for why someone did what Paddock did in the manner he did it.

Your journey into how much was spent on the 42 guns on average, and what a British analyst considers an 'armoury', or an 'illegal modification' is a wonderful trip through Minutia Lane, but ignores the possible answer provided by the author.

Why bring 23 guns and a crapload of ammo into the hotel over several days? Wouldn't 5 or 10 have served just about any offensive or defensive purpose just as well? Maybe the guy was just not very practical. Or maybe he was showing how much hardware someone could sneak into a place with as much 'security' as a casino. That is one of the points the author was making.

Why go to the ultimately fatal trouble of shooting a crapload of people, and not leave a trace of Why? Maybe he hated C/W music. Maybe Aldean cut him off on the freeway once. Maybe the author is right. It is hard to believe someone would do that for no reason.

Whatever one thinks of the article, it might be helpful to think about how the conversation has progressed since the shooting, i.e. Guns-r-Bad. Maybe the author is on to something. Maybe he isn't. A thoughtful discussion of possibilities is unlikely to hurt anything.
