The fight per se is not between the Old Guard (R) Elite and the New Blood (R) Conservatives.

The internal (R) fight will be between continued old boy corruption, business as usual and Constitutional supporting clean hands. If the Mitch McConnell's of the party win the internal struggle you might as well change the (R) party plank to match the (D) party plank word for word.
