Not much to think about there. If you have nothing to lose, you lose nothing by taking as many of them with you as you can.[}:)]

If you truly believe everything you read, I recommend you stay away from novels.

While I have no basis to confirm or deny this report, I have no doubt that such things may/could/will happen. Confirmed reports of voter fraud in the last Presidential election were overlooked or not acted upon. Anyone should be able to see a trend. When you get away with such an affront of the Constitution, why not take the next step and simply murder the competition.

A few years ago, there was lots of talk about FEMA camps and the millions (?) of plastic caskets.

If there are no plans for a takeover and arrests...........Why did they create a beast like Homeland Security and put the Patriot Act in place?

'Tis a well known fact, it was to protect us, the general population. [:D]

Creation of the SS and the enactment of the Enabling Act come to mind. The SS gradually grew and took over most competing agencies as Homeland security is doing and The Enabling Act was much like The Patriot Act is today. [}:)]

Good question. Why don't you ask George Bush?

Simple question and answer, both parties are working to the same end.

The argument put forth against the PATRIOT Act, as well as Homeland Security was that it concentrated too much un-restricted power in the hands of the government. That once enacted no administration would willingly give up such power.

But at the time there was too much hysteria, primarily promoted by right-wing, and conservative politicians and public talking-heads (like Limbaugh and Hannity) to allow a considered approach. Unfortunately, the American public and Congress tend to panic easily.

The most recent example was the scare that Obama was going to take away the guns. That was something that was done by local and state governments. Entities that are more closely controlled by the voting public. But panic is not to be denied.
