China is not our friend and they along with Russia are the worlds 2 largest threats.

China is a huge bully in their region. They lack Force projection but they are working very hard to remedy that situation.

Russia is in the same boat. Even at their height the USSR did not have the force projection we had. I doubt they will ever get their navy as strong as it was but they are relying on their submarine force and air forces to keep the US at bay.

Banning Chinese Imports into the U.S. would be more devastating than anything our military could do short of fusing a bunch of hydrogen atoms.

We cannot risk a trade war and we cannot risk a real war. The answer lies in the American consumer rejecting Chinese merchandise and companies. The failure of so many Americans to come to terms with the risk and commit to that rejection is what increases the risk of eventual war.

we have a 316 BILLION dollar trade deficit with China. that means we bought $316,000,000,000 worth of goods from them.

trade war? we have every right in the world to give them nothing, while they buy $316,000,000,000 worth of goods from us, to catch up on their end of the deal.

if there is a war with China, where are we going to get the money to pay for it? we might have had enough money if we kept all the jobs in AMERICA [B)] or the Chinese didn't sell us $316,000,000,000 worth of cheap Chinese junk and didn't buy anything from us in return.

China, has something the USA, all of Europe, Australia, and many other counties of not have: Low Cost Labor, superior work ethics, and plenty of both.

Oh, the crybabies are going to come out whining and saying the Chinese work well over 12 hours a day, seven days a weeks, no insurance, and for pennies.
Little do they realize hard work is part of there culture and the Chinese love it.

One other note. China has practically no natural recourses other than agriculture, which is used mainly in country. Amazing how much power a nation can have merely by the will to work, longer, harder, and without government and union involvement in labor.

Conversely North America has an abundance of natural recourses, but unfortunately an entitlement system and taxation that discourages work. Not to mention an over abundance of government discouraging and preventing use of natural resources.

Where would the Chinese be militarily and economically if not for all the generous outsourcing and technology transfer's courtesy of corporate America?

Blaming corporate America for outsourcing and technology transfer, or the demise of manufacturing in the USA is like blaming guns for all of the murders: Liberal logic.

The "generosity" is a result of our own government and government policies of egregious, taxation, regulation, mandates, and creating a hostile legal environment on corporate America.

We could defeat China overnight if we over night just cut off ALL trade with it.

There is no need for a war but population reduction.

My bad, I should have stated trade policies as well but felt that was fairly obvious from the days of Nafta on. However I'm pretty sure corporate America and politicians were working hand in hand all the while since they seem to be stuck up in others arse!
