The pink ones were in the ladies room! What were you doing in there?

Not something I like a big helping of, but it's ok.

As I said earlier, it has been a very long time for me and I now wonder if fruitcakes have been improved upon since then? Or....maybe my tastebuds have changed, or perhaps a scoop or two of vanilla ice cream might make it better?

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I like the idea of a fruitcake. I like cake and I like most fruit. Hmmmmm....might be time to make a pineapple upside down cake! Now those I do like a lot!! πŸ˜›

I like fruit cake. Don't make it, I buy it. CostCo in my area has not sold it lately but Sam's Club did last year. So I will try Sam's Club this year.

Now that's a stellar idea. Love me some pineapple upside down cake.

I can tolerate maybe 2 slices a year. Might try the rum trick! BTW- do you pour it on the cake or use it as a chaser? πŸ˜‹

I would not waste good rum on fruitcake.

Heck, I wouldn't even waste cheap rum on fruitcake (if I had any cheap rum)

I like it - but I'm on record as liking almost everything but cilantro.

US/European style fruit cake is what I'm more used to, but it is hard to beat a good Italian panettone. Lighter, more delicate, and just heavenly with a cup of coffee.

I've never had the Tuscan panforte, which is darker, denser, and filled with nuts. I bet it's great. (Do a search for "Italian fruit cake")

...Agreed, Collin Street Bakery in Corsicana has some good fruitcakes...Mom used to make one that had Rum in it, had to "cure" in the fridge for 30 days, best I ever had...and Im not a fruitcake fan...
