went out friday to check the cameras...........
took the kids new pup and some corn for the feeders and some rotten apples the wife didn't get to canning. It is the first time the dog , only 6 months old, has been out in the woods. he ran himself silly from one stump/tree to another maybe 50 feet away, then back. poor little guy is still napping this morning, we had a crew in the house wednsday and thursday replacing the windows and he and I never got our naps. got home and got a look on the cards and had a bear, a big coyote almost big enough to be small wolf, a doe and a racoon fighting over corn, but no big bucks, one big spike. hope things change before hunting season...........

Sounds like a fun outing with the pup. That was a huge adventure for him!

Grandson's 'back corner of the bean field' camera recorded a very large bobcat and a big 10 point buck plus a bunch of small stuff. Not w/o a price--a conservative estimate of our crop damage during crop growing season(May-October) is $1000+/month. If you include the losses due to beaver dams backing water into farmland, double the total.
