Quality Hardware M1Carbine
A friend just traded into a nice condition Quality Hardware M1 Carbine sporting a Buffalo Arms 1943 dated barrel. Along with it comes 1000 rounds of ammo in cans, bandoleers, and stripper clips. He traded a wood splitter he wanted $1300.00 for. I think he did ok, what do the experts say?

I think he made out like a bandit. A relatively rare carbine and a thousand rounds of ammo would probably at today's prices be worth almost twice what he was asking for his wood splitter. The ammo alone is probably 8-900 bucks. Bob

Oh, and I think he said he got the bayonet with it.

Your buddy should be arrested for theft. A few months back Locust Fork sold my plain jane Inland (the most common manufacturer) carbine for over $1800- no ammo, but a bayonet was included. as BobJudy said, never mind the carbine itself, the ammo alone was worth the price of admission.

You mean that he stole it.
