Boy was I ever wrong. According to this website, there are currently 23 active volcanoes and a dozen more showing minor activity!

We need to tax volcano owners and operators!

The only way to stop a volcano is to throw in a few virgins.

I heard virgins have become an extinct species however! 😮

Oh! Wait a minute! It is about time that we bring back "Joe VS The Volcano"

Pretty sure we have the solution and have finally found something our president just might be good for!

I don't know about virgins, but I'd be willing to throw in quite a few politicians to see if it appeases anything.

Well at least that explains the Brain Clouds.

Speaking of volcanoes, you might like this photo. It's from the rim of Mt Spurr showing part of the cone and crater. It used to be a mountaintop across there to the other side. BOOM.

Throwing politicians in might cause the poor thing to throw up!

Yep I was out shooting with my BIL when it went off. Big black blanket came across the sky and it started "snowing" huge ash flakes. We got about 6" of ash on the ground out at the university in Cheney.

I was living in Spokane back in the Mt. St. Helens era. I don't recall the exact date that it erupted, but it was about noon in Spokane, and it began to get dark out.

That was quite an event to experience. From what I can remember, no one had a clue that it was that close to occurring. Not even those who's job it was to monitor / predict such an occurrence.

    May 18, 1980.

I lived in Seattle when St. Helens blew. Flew down there twice that day in my little Cessna 140 and took some great pics up close and personal. Twas a day I will never forget.
