Iron Sight put crosshairs in an old Weaver KV I have and they did an excellent job. Turn around time was close to 12 months.

Yes, Weaver did make scopes with a dot aiming point in various sizes. Your scope may be OK, just a fine dot.

Thanks navc130. I believe that is what I have. Any idea of the value?

As I understand it, the fine dot was used by target shooters and varmint hunters. This means limited demand. Used Weaver scopes in good condition go for $50 to $75 in my area of SE Michigan.

Lyman made a scope with a small black dot, name of scope was Alaskan.

Reticle and dot showed up good on a white snow background.

Not any good for Oklahoma squirrel hunting, get in the shade of trees, etc and could not see the dot. I think it had a 7/8 inch tube.

I think some maybe have been used on the old military sniper rifles and would bring a premium on flea bay if described as a sniper scope.

When Weaver K4 scopes of that vintage sold for $45, the dot was $10 extra. But, as has been said, the going rate for Weaver K4's is around $50-$75. They are still great scopes for vintage rifles; I have several of them and still buy them at gun shows if in good shape.
