I don't think I could possibly disagree with you more. China can raise an army of fighting aged men larger than several times the entire US population. They have arms and sophisticated technology that rivals ours and even has the backing of the Russians. And even if they couldn't defeat the US from a technological standpoint, they have the resources and manpower to win a war of attrition several times over. And let's not kid ourselves, The USA relies significantly on Chinese sourced goods and is indebted to China to the tune of nearly 1 Trillion dollars.

Pick up a copy of a book called Kill Chain by Kristian Brose.
The very first chapter breaks down exactly how the Chinese would defeat the US. The rest of the book explains why & how we can get our edge back.

It would be far simpler than that. They produce nearly all our antibiotics.

I agree that China is a much larger danger than most think. We have shipped so much manufacturing out of the USA so the corporations can increase their bottom line. Now it coming back to bite our butt. Now days I'm almost glad (almost is the operative word here) that I'm as old as I am. I don't think I'll be around to see how bad things get. I worry about my two sons and their wives. My grand-children and great grand-children are in deep stuff.
Now I need a cold beer!

I watched a program on Amazon Prime TV called The New Silk Road.It was about Chinese manufacturing and marketing.They are very good at what they do.

China has a couple Billion people we have 330 Million of course they are going to be the new world leader, let them deal with all the damn problems USA has taken on all these years. Time for us to rebuild.

I fear China knows we have a serious leadership vacuum right now and that they will move on Taiwan before the R Congress is sworn in in Jan 2023. If we react at all, whatever that reaction is will be wrong. Our reputation on the world stage will be irreparably diminished. We live in dangerous times.

We don't have the balls to fight like we'd have to fight to beat them. Every decision has to be called in to the bosses in Washington, and there can be no collateral damage. And God forbid we offend them while we take aim. What are the gender affirming pronouns in Mandarin?
