If my memory is correct, I read an article about this gentleman in the old magazine “GUNS” and not only did he make his own dentures from deers teeth, but modified a 1911 using shoeing rasps for slides that he tempered himself and formed using a file only, to fire a cut down 45/70 cartridge.
I believe he called it the 470 Whitehorse.
Wish I still had all those old magazines, they had interesting articles and stories.
