What fun!! Boy that would be an arm workout with my big knobby tires and manual steering on the Series 2A. Nice to see people risking getting their shiny grocery-getters scratched up!

There were some nice older ones but the grocery getters far outnumbered them.

Didja see that pretty white Series 1 off in the distance? There's the magic offroader, it's narrow, light and nimble.

Makes mine look big in comparison.

Several years ago I was tempted to buy a newer model used Land Rover (Range Rover) that was for sale locally. While doing a bit of pre-purchase research, I asked a brother who was in charge of the parts department of our Ford dealership. Was STRONGLY advised not to buy because of the high costs of parts and maintenance.

You’re preaching to the choir. I’ve had mine for 25 years now and have all the bugs worked out. It was expensive getting here, but now it’s far and away the most reliable car I’ve ever owned (including 13 Hondas).

My Series 2A turned over 400,000 miles 2 years ago then the “mileometer” broke. It will apparently go forever, there are only 10 moving parts and I know what they all do.

Got a 79 Land Cruser in the back garage. Been there now for 22 years!! Ran great before I put it in there🤔

I think I must have been indoctrinated at an early age to really LIKE Land Rovers.

I blame watching and enjoying that old set in Africa TV series "Daktari" for this!

Oh! I also had a "thang" for Cheryl Miller! I used to dream I was her pet Chimp! 😁

Oh yea! I can relate to that movie as well Nanuq! Also don't forget how the Adamson's got around in the movie "Born Free". Africa always intrigued me back when I was coming of age. Seems the Land Rover was the vehicle of choice on that dark and mysterious continent.
