"Seems as if it would make sense for her to get the vaccine; she keeps her job, you keep your house and she will be protected from COVID. Just a thought..."

And if there was a government mandate stating in an effort to reduce overpopulation, you can only have one child and then be neutered, would that also be acceptable?

I think I'm about to lose my job and Son is in the same pinch because our family refuses to be vaccinated with something that is not effective. This vaccine DOES NOT PREVENT GETTING THE DISEASE and only 'maybe' reduces the effects if one does contract the disease.

I am all for everyone researching the issue and making their own decisions, but that only works if you are getting accurate and unbiased information from credible sources; clearly, there are people on this forum that are not.

    Mr. Perfect,

I admire your wife for having the courage of her convictions, and you for standing with her when it would be much easier on both of you to simply "bend the knee".

The issue isn't about getting vaccine, it is about mandating the vaccine. Why some can't differentiate this is beyond me.

Mr. P: I wish you and your wife the very best.

So in other words, you're all for everyone researching the issue and making their own decisions so long as that decision agrees with what the party tells you you are supposed to think.

I'd say most of the people on this forum are pretty well informed on the issue. What are you seeing that suggest otherwise?

I'm sorry to hear this. You are welcome in Montana. Prayers.

    Need a roommate? 😁

I may or may not have an accessory rail.

Sorry to hear this, Randy, and I respect you and your wife's decision.

As you know, when Inslee issued his first decree in March of last year, I looked at my wife and told her we are putting the house up for sale and moving to Idaho. I left money on the table selling house during the peak of the fear of Covid, and of course the income tax in Idaho is an added cost, but I have never re-considered the decision.

The people of Washington State and I part ways when they voted for two restrictions on firearm ownership via the initiative process over the past 8 years. Watching the childishness of how it seems most in even Eastern Washington meekly follow the dictates of the moron in Olympia has re-affirmed our decision to leave 100+ times over the past 18 months.

Standing for principle is rarely the easiest path, as you know.

Honestly Don, if we hadn't done this remodel, I don't think there'd be a moment's hesitation to get out and move to a free area (all of your reasons included), particularly now. But my wife just got her dream kitchen and pantry (literally finished last week). Hard to just chuck that aside. I know it's possible to get it again, but man was it a huge headache to get this go-round!

Dream kitchens and pantries come and go, but your beliefs and standing up for your rights are how this nation was built, I salute you and your wife, you can do it again! Ask me how I know...

If COVID were not contagious, and if the unvaccinated were not contributing to this pandemic continuing, I would have absolutely no interest whatsoever in what other people decided to do about getting the shot or not.

Vaccinated People With Breakthrough Infections Can Spread The Delta Variant, CDC Says
In an outbreak in Provincetown, Mass., three-quarters of cases occurred in fully vaccinated people. The study's findings suggest that vaccinated people infected with delta can transmit the virus.
Study: Vaccinated people can carry as much virus as others
In another dispiriting setback for the nation’s efforts to stamp out the coronavirus, scientists who studied a big COVID-19 outbreak in Massachusetts concluded that vaccinated people who got so-called breakthrough infections carried about the same amount of the coronavirus as those who did not get the shots.
Coronavirus transmission among vaccinated people could raise the risk of an even more dangerous variant
As cases of the Delta variant surge, vaccinated people who don't mask up may increase the risk that vaccine-resistant variants develop, a study says.

The vaccine seems to do a pretty good job at mitigating the effects of contracting Covid for the vast majority of people. It does not prevent getting or transmitting the virus. What the vaccine may do is to help prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed and may prevent what is called long covid. The mutation of the virus to a different variant can occur in both the vaccinated and in the unvaccinated. Everyone must consider their own unique circumstances and health condition to determine if the vaccine is correct for them. This is not China and forcing a vaccine on someone when it might not be necessary reeks of attempted totalitarian control of their lives. Bob

What color was the 'KoolAid' you drank???

A couple things that are just WRONG about this 'mandate' thing:

There's no option for those who have already had KungFlu and now have natural immunity. It has not been proven that the vaccine is 'more effective' than natural immunity.

If the vaccine is so effective, why is there a DEMAND that everyone be vaccinated? If you choose to be vaccinated then you shouldn't be concerned that I'm not since the vaccine is effective-right?

"WHY DO THE PROTECTED NEED TO BE PROTECTED FROM THE UNPROTECTED BY FORCING THE UNPROTECTED TO USE THE PROTECTION THAT DIDN’T PROTECT THE PROTECTED IN THE FIRST PLACE?"

I heard this question was asked by a retired nurse. It's a good question. It makes faucists heads explode! I'm quite certain fatcat can provide a "scientifically based" answer where others have failed?

l just hate WHINERS. Before l retired l worked outages at a couple Nuke plants in my area. One Nuke employer told his employees their job was the most important in the state. ''Someone HAS to tend the FIRE. We must have electricity'', he said. So a proclamation was issued. All employees MUST be vaccinated. Asked how he would enforce it. ''Simple, Its my way or the HIGHWAY''.😙

The mantra of the Quisling throughout history.

Oh, I am sure you stand on principle when it costs you nothing. It only means something, however, when there is a cost. My guess is this is something you understand, but have not lived.

Agreed. It's one thing to disagree with a post but another altogether to mock a person's convictions and decisions. But hey...sign of the times, right?

LS&D, it's fine really. Some folks understand how living by your convictions works and others are happily blown by the winds of whatever's popular and convenient.
