Farris Wheels only from now on.....NEVER getting on "The Sizzler" or anything like it ever again!
Ok, some of you know.....without nearly killing yourself.....when its time to say "no more" because you are smarter than me and my aunt. We had to learn the hard way. I got on this thing tonight and I swear, angels had to be holding it together and I have no clue how I didn't pass out. Tonight was the official end to any rides like that for me. It had been a while since I had ridden anything like that and I had no clue how wrong the decision was to do so.

I was pretty young when I took my last ride on one of those rickety, shake your guts loose carnival contraptions! Especially After seeing who was responsible for the setting up and taking down of all the fair equipment.

Dear Lady, in my younger days I flew jets. I relished all kinds of nip-ups, whifferdills, and inverted rats asterisks, all at moderately high G forces. I have seen combat and am no stranger to danger. But I wouldn't get on a Carnival ride for love nor money.

You might want to stay off the Avatar ride at Disney then.

I think my new rule will be looking at people that get off the ride....and if I don't see anyone that looks anything like me getting off of it, I'm not getting ON it.

With age comes wisdom, or in my case barfing my guts out at 15 brought my carnival riding to an early end. Not good to puke on the cute girls shoes. Bob

We would some summers have a camping trip on the Jack's fork down by Eminence. I can remember one summer there was a small fair or carnival going. They had a loop-o-plane running and after each ride, someone would go out and pound the stakes back in the ground. Mean ol dad wouldn't let us ride it!

Like Brookwood said! I set up and tore down those rides one summer. Never got on one again.
