thanks for the reminder. On Friday the thirteenth I like to also break a mirror while walking under a ladder. If I’m really unlucky there will be a black cat scampering away at the same time.
Take that, bad luck omens!

I do love the superstitions, though. Some of them are hilarious.
A barred owl has been hooting in the woods next to the house most nights since the spring. Grandma always said that or a bird pecking at the window meant a death coming to the house. Personally, I think those are perks of living in a great place surrounded by woods.

I also had a great Friday 13. Found a new (to me) seafood restaurant in Waynesville, NC, that was highly recommended by a friend. So wife & I decide to go try it out for dinner. While waiting to be seated, in comes the friend & some other I knew. We got a larger table and all had dinner together. Oysters, fish, shrimp, & all sides were excellent. Wife & I's bill was $112.00, Friend snatched it up and said, dinner is on me tonight.
