Merle Haggard had it right...........
We have a new radio station I picked up in the truck yesterday, its an Oldies station for country from back in the 70's and 80's. They played an old Merle Hagard song rainbow stew from back at least 30 or more years ago, He hit the nail on the head back then as to todays " political/cultural climate" I don't know how to post the video/song so maybe one of you computer savvy folks will or just google the song rainbow stew, and this isn't meant as a political statement against either party, just the general way it is.......

There is some new stuff that is good, but they don't play it on the pop country stations because, well, it's not pop country. Pop country is crap.

I really don't listen to any of todays music. Just oldies but goodies for me and I always liked Merle, and I never was a real country music fan. I just hate the word fan! Prefer to be called an appreciator of various musicians playing various types of music. ๐

Yepper, Mr. Haggard had it right.
Years ago when I played bass a lot I had the honor of playing on the same stage as Merle.
It was 10 years after he'd been there, but doggone it, it was the same stage!

My neighbor's son just moved back here from Nashville to take care of his mom. He was a successful song writer.
He told us the ๐ has taken over Country music.

Merle Haggard Endorses Hillary Clinton - Russell Moore
In an update to yesterday's post on Hillary Clinton and the changing American gender landscape, here's some news. Merle Haggard, whose counter-counter-culture anthem "Okie from Muskogee" earned him White House audiences in the Nixon era, has a new candidate for President of the United States: Hillary Rodham Clinton. According to the New York Times, Haggard is trying out a new song on audiences around the country, "Hillary." Here are some of the lyrics: Eight years in the White HouseWith the know-how we needWhen you walk with a leaderYou learn how to leadThis country needs to be honestChanges need to be largeSomething like a big switch of genderLet's put a woman in chargeSorry, it is what it is.
