Looks like I'll be getting a new car in December.
A guy at my local Chevron has a 1995 Chevy Caprice B4U. Back like half a year ago I noticed it being the same color as mine and got to talking. He was thinking of selling and I told him I was interested. So whenever I get my gas and lotto tickets we yap a little.
Yesterday I needed a bit of fuel to do another Sea Foam treatment and replace the EGR to see if this will help her pass smog. Dude walks out and asks if I was still interested? Told him "yup" and I asked how much "$3K with 160K miles". $500 more than I paid for my '94 in 2002 and half the mileage. She might be the last one. Unless a 2014-16 SS comes down into my price range (covid screwed up that up and they've been back up to sticker price).
I figure if my '94 doesn't pass smog I got my parts car. It's too bad both cars has similar damage on the same side (passenger front). Ideally I find a front clip for the '95 and fix her up. Not as a "donk". Yosh don't roll like that. Maybe little lowered and playing Peter Gunn Theme on loop?

I don't know if you can buy ethanol free gas in Kalifornia, but we can buy premium ethanol free here. I think for older cars that's a plus because ethanol is hard on seals, lines, and electric fuel pumps. I use it exclusively in my 88 Toyota 4wd pickup.
Speaking of Peter Gunn- you can see the series on Prime. It's great 1960s entertainment. Cool cars, bad guys with snub nose 38s, and the women all in skirts with pointy lift-and-separate bras.

They put ethanol to ruin gas motors to make us go electric.
There was a run of retro shows. What was it "Aquarion"? Didn't see it but what you mentioned reminded me of it.

A little later than December but supposedly I'm to pick up the ride about 1400 later today. Looking forward to deciphering the spid tag. Hope she has a GU4 (3.08) with a G80 (posi) being a B4U it should. Make no sense to have a tow package otherwise, right?
My last ride unless I win the lotto. Rally Fighter. I hope they still make those.

you gonna pick it up without pants?????????

Yosh, there seems to be a significant divergence between your definition of new and mine.

Hope it works out for you sounds like a great cruser
As for being new i just say any more " new to me "
no matter the year or what it happens to be no matter if a car ,gun, or tool or whatever it's still a new to me purchase

I get you Yosh. When we went to buy a newer pickup last year. My wife wanted something a year or two old. I wanted to buy this 1955 chevy pickup I saw at a car show, that was for sale. 11,000 grand for a pu I wanted. We ended up with a newer Dodge Ram instead. Women don't get us men when it comes to cars and trucks!!!! I put about 1000 miles a year on my PU. I just go from my house to the other side of town to hunt, and occasionally to home depot. Cannot wait to retire to get what I want.

Turned out to be a 1996 (OBD2) my first. Dude took it to O'Reilly's for a scan and it indicated a Vacuum leak. Anyways the front bumper and grill had issues which dude told me about but it was little more damage than I'd like. Hopefully it's just the bumper cover since the air bags didn't deploy. I already had a grill sitting around for like 20 years so that'll come in handy.
Engine seems good, no odd shifts from the tranny and has the G80 I wanted but has rear drums.
So I got the ride for $2400. Dude knocked down $600 because he needed to get it out of his name. This makes me suspicious. If the ride doesn't pass smog it'll make a good part's car.
Mr. Perfect - I suppose I should have stated "new" to me.
Oakie - You paid for a new truck to drive a 1000 miles a year? Silly thing will be out of warranty with 10K miles. On top of that a Dodge? Tisk, tisk, tisk. You would've saved money on the '55 and increased it's value. At least you won't have to worry about someone stealing that Dodge.

‘New to me’ is good, Yosh.
I got rid of my 56 T-Bird and replaced it with a 2016 Panamera. Pretty much a straight up exchange. Have pot more miles on the Panamera in the last 5 months than I put on the T-Bird in the last 5 years.
