Value estimates
I'm new to this site and am trying to comply with protocols so bear with me. I'm planning to visit a couple of local gun shops here (in Florida) to see if they would be willing to accept handguns in exchange for a credit against what I would ultimately buy from them. Doesn't matter if I use all of the credit or not. I'd make available to them (1) a Glock 22, still in box, never fired, (2) a Glock 27, still in box, never fired, 2 mags each, (3) about 150 rounds of 40 caliber hollow points. Just looking what a reasonable offer (credit not cash) might be. Thanks for any suggestions.

Some do, mine has a board of credits for customer's but that credit can be only used for tag prices that are marked up for trading already.
You could just wait until they get something you want and then trade the lot or part of it at that time. IMO only0 -

Another vote for using a consignment seller like Locust Fork (kasey) she will get the best price for what you have and her fees will be less than what a LGS will mostly take off the top of your value, it is what she does and is well known as an honest reseller. Check out her listings:

The gun stores can purchase those Glocks at wholesale prices, and you will be given lowball figures and they are reluctant to take in ammo. You will not receive a reasonable offer, sorry to say. Picture yourself going into a used car lot with a lemon (glocks) and trying to uptrade, it'll be the pigeon going to the cat.

Best bet is to private sale your guns at a price you are comfortable with or send them to Kasey on consignment. You will be insulted by the offers you get on trade ins .

Based on my experience selling or trading in firearms at gun shops, their offer is approx. 70% of what they intend to get for it…..

common firearms that are readily available , even if NIB will bring at most 50% of the price you paid for them most likely less than that, selling or trading to a dealer really makes little difference, you will always be on the losing end, the dealer will aways make the most they can on the sale and pay/value the least they can when trading or buying common , readily available firearms.

Kasey-She handled over 60 of my firearms maybe a year ago. Did a good job. How can you go wrong. I can't think of another approach better than an auction on Gun Broker. Where else can you reach more gun buyers?
