Wow, what a woman. Does she happen to have a single sister?

She just completed her RN schooling and passed the NCLEX. Starts a new job next week. She said that for all the help while she was in school and working that she wants to buy me a gun to say thank you. Nice. So now I am working on deciding what I really want. I am a Browning guy so adding a Hi-Power would be nice. I'd like to have a nice target .22 to see how good I can be/not be. I love WWII history but most of those collectibles are likely too much. Not complaining, just a nice position to be in right now.

I have an older version of this guy and it's amazing. Easy to shoot, accurate, easy to tear down and clean.

    Buck Mark Field Target
Heavy/Bull barreled single-action, blowback operated, rimfire pistol. Full-length top Picatinny rail. Pro-Target adjustable sights. Laminated cocobolo target grips.

Kevin beat me to it. Browning Buckmark all the way! They have so many variations…. anything you could want.

I have a couple of the more basic ones, and they are fantastic. Reliable, extremely accurate, and great triggers. Pleasure to shoot! One of my absolute favorites.

Not truly a 'Target" pistol but I received a S&W Victory for a Father's day present a few years ago.. It was recommended by a couple friends that owned them. I did shoot one before I got mine. With CCI Standard speed ammo it will shoot dime size groups at 15 yards if I do my part…. Just an option….

I've always wanted you to have a Colt python, royal blue, 6 inch that we could share.

Single, but taken. Sorry. I have my eyes on a 1985 Browning 1895 .30-06 which I think is the one of the most beautiful designs.

I do have a slab side Buckmark and love it.

Maybe she could hold seminars to teach our wives to think the same way.

You bet........as we had quite the celebration when my wife EARNED her B.S.N. years ago.😊😊

Yep........get what you want.......and don't "settle" for anything less.

Perhaps he would like one like this....…

    Or.......for more formal occasions.......

Gotta love those 22 target pistols!!😎🤠

Should have detailed the "target" comment. Looking for a .22 rifle. A target .22 pistol and my eyes with corrective lenses are not the ideal combination. I need good glass on top to make up for my not so young eyes.

First thing is congrats to your wife. Now I have to say "What a good wife", definitely a keeper. The Browning 1895 would be a very good choice, I have one in 30 40 Krag and I like it a lot. I think you would be very happy with it.

    Gotcha........

At the risk of being accused of humble-bragging........I'll add a picture of my Anschutz 54.18MS 22LR. In years past..…I helped a friend reduce a bad amphibious infestation, on one of his farm ponds, via head shots(easier said than done BTW.....as floating targets that appear stationary…..are NOT). Using my old pd table("The Rock") helped a lot.

Or..........I could just brag....... But......admittedly......one of my favorite 22's, is my grandfather's Win Model 61 Octagon barrel.......while my sons favorite is a Win 63(found at a garage sale for $120).😁😇

My daughter treated herself to an Anschutz 1710 ,22 LR sporter to celebrate her PhD, and loves it. Capable of sub 1/2" 5 shot groups at 50 yds, and at home with either .22 silhouettes or small game.

Gun could mean more than one, for instance in a 3 gun, not guns, shooting match, rifle, pistol, and shotgun are usually involved.
