The judge ruled that the prosecution concealed evidence from his Baldwin's legal team. Threw out the case.

Judge said the defense successfully argued the prosecution withheld (buried) evidence. Look for an appeal from the armourer.

While I think he pulled the trigger (it is single action, right?) And bears some or a lot of responsibility here, the case is complicated by the incompentence of the armorer. It has been apparent locally that the prosecutor was driven by desire for the notoriety to be gained. I don't think he got off for being too famous and privileged to prosecute, but by prosecuterial incompetence or an excess of zeal. He still should not have gotten off with no justice.

This is too bad. I really don't care for Baldwin or any of his brothers. I think he is also responsible for the Hutchins death.

But how many tens of thousands of guns are handed to actors over the years and ther job is to follow direction given
I will wager less than 1 % ever gave a thought is this areal or prop gun as real guns with banks were comom also
Being the director should he have been more involved in evey aspect
I can't say I am surprised he got offcuts how it was dismissed is quenstable
He still has millions of dollars if he never makes another movie or show

He is a coward. As soon as he started claiming he never pulled the trigger and the gun went off by itself I lost all respect for him.

I never paid much attention to the case, because I figured he would walk anyway. As narcissistic as most Hollywood types are, I doubt he loses ten minutes of sleep over killing someone.

A man turned in some ammo to the Sheriff's office that may have been related to the case, but maybe was not. The prosecution knew about this ammo, but did not inform the defense about it, so the judge tossed the case.
I don't see what these few rounds of ammo have to do with the FACT that Baldwin pointed a loaded gun at the camera lady and pulled the trigger. Then, he repeatedly lied about it, and he said the gun just went off and he didn't pull the trigger.
Seems fishy to me that the case was dismissed.

So the armorer was the fall guy. I did not think Baldwin was going to see a prison cell from the get go.

Whether it related to the case or not, it was entered into evidence. The prosecutor hid that from the defence. Incompetent prosecutor seeking fame from the beginning. Her political career is over. Whether or not justice was served, she blew it. I suspect the judge was sick of the sidshow, but I am not sure why she dismissed with prejudice, rather than ruling it a miss trial.

My only thing about this whole ordeal is HOW does an actor just get to leave all responsibility in another person's hands and the laws just don't apply to them because of that? They should be required to check their own weapons….assure they aren't loaded themselves…..if you handle a gun it should be in your hands to make sure its not a dangerous situation. These are grown up people, not children. There is no reason whatsoever they shouldn't have all the responsibility.

If this was not Baldwin would the Judge made the same ruling? Unfortunately I have seen too many cases where a judge would make a totally different ruling on the evidence in question.

Sorry Kasey, the truth is, on most of the movie shoots, commercials, and documentries I have worked, things are not run the way you do it. In the shoots I have worked the actors are handed firearms (props or otherwise) by the armorer(s). Then handed back after the take. Actors rarely have a clue beyond point and shoot. Some of the more savy I worked with do indeed know how to handle firearms, clearly Baldwin did not. Only when a tragedy occurs do LEOs and prosecutors get involved. I think a lot of sets are run very well and safely. Some are not.

SWO320, I don't know, and neither do you, you believe money equals imunity, and it likely does in a lot of cases, but can you offer actual evidence it did in this case?
