Those that could left. Those like me too old to start over and knowing most states are gonna be California in 10 years. How you wonder? Because those states silly enough allowed Californians to enter those red states.

Have 2 close friends that escaped from from CA. They are constitutional conservatives & members of our shooters group. MY daughters entire company relocated to the DFW area from LA to escape oppressive business taxes. All vote GOP.
For the likes of me, I can't say for certain all those leaving CA are poisoning other states. The same applies to people who moved from IL, WA, & OR. Numerous forum members recently made it clear they preferred freedom rather than oppressive Marxism forced upon them by DEMOCRAT party majorities in state government.
