Horribly bad day (Update)
Came home from vacation today, and my cat is gone. I had my neighbor come over to feed her and check on her. The first day we were gone, he didn't shut the door tight, and she got out. He didn't bother to look for her or call us, so we could have someone come look around for her. I can only hope she comes back but not looking good. He left food out for her, but she didn't return. Drove around for three hours looking for her tonight with my son, but no luck. Maybe she will come home. She was a feral that I took in 8 years ago, when she was 2. She has gotten out before but came right back. She has been missing for 8 days now. Absolutely sick to my stomach. Going to go look for her tomorrow before the storm hits. I hope she is safe. Oak.
My cat showed up this morning, purring and very cold and hungry!!!!!!!!! She is now curled up with the dog in their bed. I'm so relieved and it couldn't be a better day!!!!!!! Thank you to everyone for the well wishes. After having just put down one of our schnauzers a few months ago, I really didn't need to lose another pet. .

So sorry, hoping you find her or she returns soon.

Hope you find her
She may find her way back even after the eight days
We have had a cat or three disappear for what seemed like forever then just show back up a bit skiner and happy to be back

Only those of us who have experienced your situation can understand your grief. So sorry, Eddie

Very bad. Cats are so fickle, no telling what she is up to. Hopefully she'll return soon.

Sorry to hear about your cat. Our Martha has gone on little trips a few times over the years. Once was 16 days and then she just showed up. Hopefully your cat will show up soon. It is hard when they are missing . Hang in there OaKie

Take something like one of your shirts or other article of clothing you wear and hang it outside, they will smell the sent and follow it home. You will have better luck than food, food attracts other animals. Cats can get lost and rely a lot on scent to find their way home. When cats are rubbing the side of their face on things they are leaving a scent that they recognize as their own.
Now if it is an un-neutered male; he might decide to stay out a while. But when he gets hungry he’ll come home. If it’s a female, and pregnant she maybe having her litter out side. If she was feral like you say, and she is/was pregnant, it’s only natural for her to have her young out side.3 -
That’s great news, I glad she she found her way home. Funny how we can get attached and worry about them like their one of are own kids.

That is great news.
We are spoiled we have neighbors that watch our cat when away.
They spend more time with him than I think we do most weeks. In fact they brought him a Christmas present and not us.9 -
That made my day….. Those fuzzy critters sure wiggle their way into our hearts ! 😁
