Going to the dmv
After going to Doc In The Box twice waiting hours on end the dmv will be a breeze. Just doing a transfer of title on the '96 since I didn't do the smog yet. Got a few things to sort out before and I got the eye surgery on the 22/23 this month. Besides it's cold out there.

Got there about 0815/0820 and there was a line out the door. I thought they still had covid protocols. It turned out it's like that. Took an hour and a half and my call number was B010 and they were on B005. They were zipping through and they got to B008 they started to call out other letters and numbers.
Finally got to me and I got to pay $237 on a $2400 (basically 10%) used car that had tax collected (I assume) many times. Since they took the cash and didn't inform me the ride was stolen I can assume I'm okay with future police encounters. So while she was doing the paperwork I asked if this place was this busy? She said yes and the people are angry these days. I jokingly said I thought that was a prerequisite when coming to the dmv. She said after covid "they" got worse. Got the temp. title and looked out the door to see the angry hoard. I figure the "late" arrivals should've packed a lunch.
So dmv is faster than Doc In The Box. I also learned this dmv is opened at 0800 (I thought 0900 being a bureaucracy of the government like the post office) so right after work I can be in the front row. That's convenient. I have to go back after I get the '96 smogged.

Glad you made it some what quick
I have always, and I am sure many more hate that a car is taxed every time it's sold. I have bought cars out of state and have to pay our state's tax when getting the title transferred
Good old government never misses a chance to squeeze more money in tax out of us
Then give billions to other countries and illegals and fund countless useless studys in place of Americans first by backing off on every tax
ok rant over
