Yeah, that was close. Glad it wasn't worse.

Yikes, I hate it when that happens! Glad there appears to be no serious damage.

Dang thing hurts like I've been punched. Tornado in May blew trees over and has created new game trails. I was opening up some areas under the trees for the deer to walk through to get them back onto old trail patterns. Hoping if they resume these paths the bucks will bump their antlers and create easily accessible sheds.

Glad your okay . Even the tinest scratch feels like a major injury

Good idea to keep such things around

We had one but I have not seen it for years

Will add No.one can never be to carefull with our eyes

I have used a magnet a handful of times over the years also , working on and under cars, even wearing glasses and safety gasses tiny pieces of metal get past them

Also, every fluid used on a vehicle has found its way into my eyes. A garden hose or a bucket of water can be your friend

A few days ago it occurred to me I didn't have an eye wash glass cup. Occasionally I get something in my eye and recall one that my grandfather had to wash his eyes out. I think to myself, "Self, (and I know its me because I'm wearing my clothes) you need an eye wash glass cup." It would make it so much more convenient for rinsing tids and bits out of my eye.

I decided to contribute to the economy and Jeff Bezos and ordered a set along with eye rinse. Everything is scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

Now, how did I know I would need it this quickly? Serendipity or the good Lord looking out for fools? I snapped a branch while on a walkabout through the woods and it snapped back, smacked me in the eyeball. Since I was in the woods I took a quick selfie of the eyeball to see if I did any major damage.

It was red and irritated but didn't look bad. Looking forward to giving it a good rinse tomorrow.

What a shotglass not good enough? Crazy how folks these days now have to walk with osha approved safety glasses. Us humans are so unsafe for our own good. While you're at it buy a helmet to keep from being concussed. And a neck brace just incase you turn your head too quick and give yourself a whiplash.

Eye cups are eyeball shaped so they don't have as much of a chance of leaking rinse liquid. I throw caution to the wind and wonder around in the woods with no PPE.

Scratched eyeball gets infected very easily. If you feel anything different get to a Dr. I used antibiotic drops for months from a pine needle scratch. Following morning eye was swelled shut.

When I was a very young fellow we always had a real Christmas tree

When I was about 10 yrs old my mom scratched her eye with a pine needle . It seemed like weeks before she got better but that was 57 yrs ago. So my memory may be a bit off

But it was the last year my parents ever had a real tree in the house for Christmas . all artifical trees up to when they passed after that

You really need a saline squeeze bottle solution as it's sterile. They are found at the pharmacy sections in the big box stores, easy to keep on hand. I also use "Clear Eyes" triple relief, which helps sooth a red eye that isn't infected. Got one eye infection and the doc wrote a script for antibiotic eye grease instead of drops, i don't like the grease, makes my vision fuzzy for a while, but helps.

Yeah I know those "eye cups". Every now and again I look at the vaseline glass ones. It's strange how you round eyes can't use a shotglass.

😆 I have tried a shot glass and it doesn't fit my eye so I don't get a good seal. I'm basically the size of a 10 year old boy or a hobbit. Yes, I do shop in the kids section at times.

If the shotglass is too large maybe one of those Nyquill dose cup be your size?
