My weekend in a nutshell....23 hours of driving....lots of guns....a bit of seafood
I had a road trip Fri/Sat….10 hours down to Jacksonville Fl on Friday. I met and had an early dinner with someone I look forward to visiting with and picked up a few of his items, then drove over to pick up some items from a couple other people in the Jacksonville area before heading to my hotel room. I've found the Hampton Inn in Jacksonville is nice, on the beach and has live music and food every time I've stayed there for a VERY reasonable price. You can't beat that!
I got up and was on the road before 7am the next morning……second stop, Dunnellon Fl where I picked up a pretty large number of items from a VERY kind man. Before lunch I was headed to my last stop…..6 hours away to Mobile Alabama. My last stop was only for 10 items, but they were NICE items, so well worth the drive!
I got home around 10pm Saturday night.
This morning we unloaded the car and I got some "chores" done here at the house.
The temps are going to be pretty crazy this week, so I'm glad to have my errands handled so I can focus on things like pipes not freezing and outside pets being warm.
I hope all of you had a productive weekend!
Next trip is Madisonville LA….if any of you want in on that let me know!

Stay warm and get what sounds like some needed rest.. Our predicted low is 9 with windchills below 0. For the northerners/mountain folks I know that's not terrible but it's a bit of a drop from our normal low 20's.

sounds like you had a good trip over all , hope the auctions go well
yesterday at 4am when I got to work the temp was -9 with northwest winds 10 to 15 mph , to say that hooking up semi trailers , yes that is 2 of them and cranking up the landing gear is a real B——- but the day went ok other than a little road rage I saw up in the twin cities and then again when 2 SUVs got into it over in WI

Alabama winter is just nuts….it was 70 three days ago, dropped down to the mid 30s and we are looking at three days of potential snow in the southern part of the state this week with lows in the single digits. I'm sure it will be back up to 70 in a few days. Our main problem is breaking pipes, tree limbs taking out power lines when things get too cold down here.

Know it alls will say to leave your faucets dripping. NO! You need a small steady stream of hot and cold water flowing in multiple sinks. Multiple sinks avoids someone accidentally turning off the stream.
