We were attacked
by the Crystalline Entity. ( KL would get it.) A 1/2" of ice on everything and power was out for 34 hours. Our wood stove and vent free gas stove kept us comfortable. Generator 3x a day kept the freezer and refrigerators cold. Glad that I put in County water.

We got maybe a tenth of an inch on the trees . All melted and gone by 3pm . We dodged the bullet ! ( eastern nc )

We got three inches in the NC mountains. A good case for my studded tires. The driveway is 3/4 mile long and steep. I drove it 5 times yesterday. I have five neighbors up here on the mountain, I have urged each of them to get Nokian Hakkepellitas, or else chains. They all ignored me. The day before the storm they all parked their cars at the little white church at the bottom of the mountain.
For 2 days now, when they want to go to the grocery store, they have to hike the driveway, drive to the store and then when they get back park at the church again, and walk back up with the groceries. The parking lot of the little church is full. It will be interesting to see what the church people will do this morning, my brother says they will call the tow truck.
