    IMO, there has never been anything 'back-door' about this since day one. Anytime a permanent record is mandated, registration exists. The fact that it is digitized makes it more accessible to a greater number of governmental entities, but it is simply paving the road to the front door that has already been opened.

    The online NICS check system is a registry...and I refuse to use it. We call all of our checks in. There's a disclaimer right on the first page stating that any and all information provided becomes property of the Dept. of Homeland Security.

    I've been sounding this alarm ever since it first came out...I just cannot understand why folks are still using it.
