I was looking at a shotgun on-line to bid on. At the end of the listing were the words "No sales to CA, NY, MA, NJ, AK, IL, HI". I got all indignant and wrote to ask why no sales and started to defend NJ by saying we are no CA or MA. Then I thought, what am I defending? I may not have a boot on my neck like CA or MA, but I have a foot on it anyway, maybe only wearing a sneaker, but a foot nonetheless. I live right across the river from 2 free(er) states, PA and DE and could move there, it is my choice for now to live in this corrupt bastion of socialism.
Rant over, time to buy more ammo. Its duck season, I will feel better after I kill something.

+1 I have more freedom in Missouri in regards to firearms than Texas does. The firearms restrictions in Texas really took me by suprise. I would have figured them for being very firearm friendly0 -

Actually I have little to no knowledge of Texas gun law. But Missouri and Arkansas do not have a seaport and Texas is more inclined to seceed.[;)]0 -

Perhaps we do not have a seaport, but Texas is already half reclaimed by the Republic of Mexico. In the event any such thing would happen, the Mexican influx would destroy Texas without the Feds ever moving on it.
Border states all have a serious disantvantage that the federal government, and the states through their passiveness have allowed to weaken them to the breaking point.0 -

Doesn't matter federalism is going to make all of these state questions moot unless the states secede which I highly doubt. They are all lead by elites who know more than the common citizen and will sell them out for a taste of power. Pretty soon, the darkness of totalitarianism will be upon us whether it is MO or PA or NJ or TX. The question will be for us all: How will I respond?
I have stood to the side for a long time defending the status quo, saying "we aren't as bad as CA" or if I jump through these hoops I can get this gun. Enough already! Our progressive elites look at those who are law abiding, play by the rules folks and smirk. They love the sheep, it makes their job easier.0
