I'm guessing that this deer is somewhere around 110 to 120 inches. Once I get some time I will officially score him. I could've waited til the rut to maybe see some better bucks. But this is my first bow kill and I was so pumped just to have one within range. So I took him. Happy hunting to all. 0 -
Well, at 7:15 this morning I had a big doe and 2 yearling buttons sneak up behind me. They really caught me off guard. 10 more feet and I would have no shot at all so I figured what the heck. I grabbed my BowTech, clipped on, turned while I was standing up. She took 3 more steps, I drew back, grunted to stop her and watched my Lumnock go right thru her and stick in the ground.
She took off with her tail at full staff, flagging away. She stopped after 20 yards, Headed back towards me into the CRP field, did the drunk dance, and fell over.
When I was getting my stuff gathered her 2 buttons came back and milled around my tree for 10 minutes. I finally had to shoo them off.[img][/img]

Here's my management buck for the contest. I didnt measure it but I dont think it would go much over the minimum score anyway. Wasnt gonna shoot him but he came to about 5yds out and I saw his rack was all messed up. Oh well, its meat on the table. 0 -

That is one funky rack NU guy. I passed on an ugly 6 tonight. After I let him walk I had second thoughts. He walked with a limp and one side of the rack was truly ugly and I had another hunter across the field that could have witnessed it. Just figured I'd leave him for someelse. [:D] 0 -
