BlackMag3 came out about 4 years ago.
At that time the manufacturer billed it as "non-corrosive."
I noticed that Cabelas did not bill it as "non-corrosive."
Nevertheless, I bought a pound to try in my cap and ball pistols.
I am tired of cleaning them.

I ordered a pound from Cabelas. With hazmat fee it cost over $50!
I loaded one cylinder in my .44 and fired.
The idea was to let it set up without cleaning.
Thank God, I did run a few patches down the barrel, otherwise, no cleaning.
I had meant to let the pistol set in the drawer for 2 weeks. I screwed up, and let it set 8 weeks.
When I got the pistol from the drawer, the hammer and cylinder were covered with red rust! I was not happy.
Thank God, the barrel was ok.
I spent 3 hours cleaning up that poor pistol.

A few months later, Cabelas quit carrying BlackMag3.
I don't know why, it is pretty good powder otherwise.
