When to Change My Bow String?
Hey folks. Quick question here. I've had a Diamond Justice for about 18 months. During that time, however, I've probably only taken about 50 total shots with it. String has been waxed and appears no different that when I got it. However, a guy I know told me I should change the string every year no matter what. Is that true, or am I safe to keep it on for a while? Thanks.

I had an old Pearson Spoiler that has had the same string for about 8 years now. I gave it to my son, but he shoots it every season with no problems. I think if the string starts to fray even the smallest amount, its time to replace it. I guess it all depends on the bow and how much it gets shot.
Good luck, Don0 -

Bingo, I had a string with over 3000 shots on it, still shooting when I got rid of the bow. I told the owner of course.0 -
yeah, I usually wait until I can visually see some wear on the string, when I start to see the smallest little fray I try to get it changed shortly. 0 -
Some say to change every year, some every 2 years, and some just when the string looks bad.
I have changed mine every few months, but as posted before, my bow is hard on strings.0 -
It also depends on how much you're pulling. Back when I was only pulling 40lbs I never had to change a string.
