When to Change My Bow String?

I had an old Pearson Spoiler that has had the same string for about 8 years now. I gave it to my son, but he shoots it every season with no problems. I think if the string starts to fray even the smallest amount, its time to replace it. I guess it all depends on the bow and how much it gets shot.

    Good luck, Don

Bingo, I had a string with over 3000 shots on it, still shooting when I got rid of the bow. I told the owner of course.

yeah, I usually wait until I can visually see some wear on the string, when I start to see the smallest little fray I try to get it changed shortly.

Some say to change every year, some every 2 years, and some just when the string looks bad.

I have changed mine every few months, but as posted before, my bow is hard on strings.

It also depends on how much you're pulling. Back when I was only pulling 40lbs I never had to change a string.
