Vintage Lure Identification
What is the easiest way to identify and place a value on vintage lures? Seems like I'll be spending countless hours searching sites for each lure, plus prices are all over the board for the same stuff. One site will show $15 and another $35...???

Are you sure it isn't a "Herb's Dilly"?[:D] Man there were a bunch of the old lures. You can find miles of old books at gun shows about the old baits but hard to get them right. I think that is the best part of having old tackle and guns, identifying them. 0 -
I agree bigbill I am lucky to have a few and it is really fun to collect them. I am always looking for old fishing stuff as we have a room called Old Bass Lodge here at the inn. It is always amazing how much some of this stuff brings. There is an old bait shop that has been locked down for more than 10 years that I know of not far from here. I often stop and look in the windows. Would I ever like to get in there. The last great buy that I got I went into a old hardware store and found 4 Wood Zara Gossas that I stole for 5 bucks each. I have several books that I use for ID but the net seems the most useful. With the times getting tough maybe some old baits will start showing up in more affordable places. 0
