I have a buddy that wats to have a muzzel loader barrel made that will stabelize a 50 cal 550gr to 650gr connical slug. We were wondering about a twist rate of 1 in 22 or maybe 1 in 24. any ideas?? 0 -
What a whopper of a slug!
I never heard of someone shooting a .50 slug that big, but I would say y'all are on the right track, maybe 1:22.0 -
I guess that I should have mentioned that the reason that he wants such a whopper of a bullet is that he intends to blast a big ol Kodiak boar with this muzzel loader. He was hunting last year and had a close encounter with an ol sow that was trying to decide wheather she was going to bite him or not. So the whoper bullet idea was born!!! 0 -
I have read that the riflingtwist needed in this event
will be in the neighbourhood of 1-26".
I think i read this in Mike Venturino's BPCR reloadingprimer.0 -
I would like to see a range report if you get it figured out. Sounds interesting...bull 0 -
