Traditional draw length
Good evening all, I have a Mathews Switchback and my draw length on compound bows is a 29". My question is what is the difference in draw length measurements between the compound bows and the traditional bows. I'm looking at getting a recurve and cannot afford a Mathews longbow/recurve bow. Any suggestions on a long/recurve bow? Thanks.

My friend Nick builds traditional bows. Beautiful stuff! I have talked to him about building me one. Down the road I will have it.

Martin makes some decent ones. 0 -
Hey DCSO, that is more like artwork than a bow. They look great. Does he make left handed ones? 0 -

He can make anything you want. Longer/shorter, what ever. I know he is building a lefty for out archery club president this week.0 -
You don't measure draw length on a traditional bow. Same bow can be used wether your draw is 29" or 31" 0 -
You will tend to draw an inch or two less on a traditional bow. You will also want to get a bow with less draw weight. Get a 45 or 50 pound bow.
Get a used bow. I like the Martin Hunter model, they shoot smooth and fast and you can get a used one for a decent price.0
