Ammunition modification
Is there any truth to the rumor that the Feds are going to require modifications to ammunition in the form of serial numbers on each cartridge? Or, primers that become unusable after two years in order to eliminate stocking of ammunition. Rumors are rampant, let's have the truth.

There is no truth.
There are a number of states that have introduced legislation like the "Ammunition Accountability Act"
Similar legislation has been introduced before. no states have passed it.....yet.
As for the primers, still just a rumor.

I do believe the leftists attacks will change from guns to ammo. Ammo is unprotected by the US Constitution and without ammo, you can't use a gun unless you're setting out trotlines. And they will also slap a huge tax on ammo that will make it much, much more difficult to purchase.
The ammo tax and tracking IS COMING, just not sure when. But to show you how close it came, Hillary was all for both taxing and tracking ammo!0 -
Primers cannot be changed or they become unstable. The stamping of shells may or may not come to pass. It's all just a rumor what they intend to do. 0 -

Absolutely, my sentiments exactly, as legally it would be completely illogical to presume that the People have the Constitutional Right to Keep and Bear Arms, but not Ammunition??? That would make as much sense as having the right to an automobile, but not to the fuel, what is the point for one belongs with the other and in order for the one to be reasonably complete must include the other, not that anything that they do or do not do is logical or reasonable.0 -

California leads the way as usual. Current California law states:

that identify the make, model, and serial number of the pistol,

fired, provided that the Department of Justice certifies that the
technology used to create the imprint is available to more than one
manufacturer unencumbered by any patent restrictions. The Attorney
General may also approve a method of equal or greater reliability and
effectiveness in identifying the specific serial number of a firearm
from spent cartridge casings discharged by that firearm than that
which is set forth in this paragraph, to be thereafter required as
otherwise set forth by this paragraph where the Attorney General
certifies that this new method is also unencumbered by any patent
restrictions. Approval by the Attorney General shall include notice
of that fact via regulations adopted by the Attorney General for
purposes of implementing that method for purposes of this paragraph.
The microscopic array of characters required by this section
shall not be considered the name of the maker, model, manufacturer's
number, or other mark of identification, including any distinguishing
number or mark assigned by the Department of Justice, within the
meaning of Sections 12090 and 12094.0
