Fished in New Creek for trout a couple times but the rivers in WV is where the best fishing is at. I fish Barnum and Smoke Hole for trout. South Branch of the Potomac for some great Smallmouth. 0 -

Nope. I'm too busy trying to fish all the rivers in Montana.0 -
My favorite is fishing the creeks. The Ohio River is good but I still perfer the creeks. 0 -
The creeks don't support year round trout, rivers do. Better chance of landing a lunker in the river. 0 -
I live in northern Ohio. I'm not hauling down to WV to fish in a creek. [;)]
Though any fishing is good fishing. Even if you're not catching anything!0 -

Knife Crazied...has anyone fished Stephens Lake on WV Route 3 just past Harper/Eccles and about six miles from the Interstate exchange at Beckley? I have wanted to fish it for years but have never heard how successful folks have been on the lake. In the 1950's, as a kid growing up in Harper, my grandfather took me out to the little Stephens Creek near Eccles and told me about the plan to dam it up and make a lake. Have never fished it and would like a report. If good, will trailer my boat and give it a try. 0
