Antique guns from out of country

I am a U.S. citizen with no FFL. I bought an 1863 rifle in South America. Can I mail it home to Texas to my address or do I need to ship to someone with an FFL. Does anyone know how I can get it home? Thanks

  Pack it securely and ship it home. Perfectly legal.

  As far as US law is concerned, it's just wood and steel and not a firearm. Send her home.
